THE BFI COLLECTION
A few of the company’s documentary material are viewable at the BFI’s centres in the UK, and a few are digitised online. This collection of newly digitised films was part of the BFI’s contribution to the UK-India Year of Culture 2017, in partnership with the British Council.

Calcutta Topical No. 2 for 1925 – The Race for the Viceroy’s Cup
In 1902, the Corinthian Theatre Chorus made some of the earliest recordings made in India.
They were recently catalogued by CHARM, the AHRC Centre for the History and Analysis of Recorded Music.
This was a joint project by Royal Holloway, University of London, King’s College London and the University of Sheffield.
